@NanaNita There is no algorithm. It's entirely subjective, and what might be considered an excellent manuscript by one or more readers/editors/agents/critics, might be loathed by others. There are standard conventions that are expected by traditional publication, genre standards, ways to structure and format a novel that you generally ought to follow. There are countless books about craft, classes and workshops we can take to improve our writing on a line level. And then, there are exceptions to every rule!

I am wondering if anyone knows the real algorithm to be seen as a good manuscript. Is there times when the agent will just work with you to make it what it needs to be or does it just have to be? I haven’t heard back yet from the agent. This is more of a general question
