145 days later and I got my very polite rejection. Most have been very polite. One rejection was kind of weird, the rest pretty polite like this one. And I think that’s a wrap for me. I think I’ve broken a record for number of agent rejections. Feels like I deserve a plaque or something. I think I should be more devastated by the dubious tonnage of rejections only to have this one land like a cherry on top after accepting the complete failure to attract any interest at all in my book (short story horror collection) but like I said, it was a very nice rejection. Kind of like that part in Saving Private Ryan when the German was stabbing the soldier to death while he sang him a lullaby. Except no one in this scenario is a 1940s German soldier or allied one either for that matter, but I digest. Seems like a nice person.
