If the agent reads comments, please take your time and no need to hurry. I am grateful for the opportunity as an underrepresented author to query from your kindness on X and look forward to hearing back, no matter what the decision is.

Alex was my first submission request since I entered the trenches over a year ago. I submitted my MG fantasy in 02/25 and she sent me the rejection below 08/25. I was pleasantly surprised as I knew she was running behind on most submissions but I really liked her honesty and seems like a cool agent to work with. I take her response below as a compliment since after 100 queries sent-- all form rejections or crickets seems to be the tiring trend. I've been hearing in my critique groups that MG is a hard sell right now so I am working on a much shorter version. Good luck to All here. Alex seems like an agent with integrity.

Dear ______,

Thank you for sharing ______________ with me. Although there was a lot to love, unfortunately, I've been having a hard time placing middle grade lately, so I must regretfully step aside. If no one snaps this up, I'd love to see a query for your next project!

Best of luck with your publishing journey!

Warmly,
Alex Brown
