Submitted Query 12/1/2025 - Contemporary Romantic Suspense - 99k
Form Rejection 12/9/25
Thank you for sharing TITLE with me. I regret that I'm unable to take you on as a client at this time. I receive hundreds of queries a month and as such must turn down many projects that might have great commercial potential.
Please know I personally read each query and that some of these rejections are based strictly on the subject of material, which may not be an appropriate fit for my current list. I have worked with many clients who endured long terms of rejection before they found the winning combination for themselves. They refused to give up, as I hope you will continue to do. Thank you again, and I wish you all the best in your publishing journey.
Best wishes,
Lindsay Guzzardo

R; 12/11/25 Lindsay is very efficient. I could see from QT that she received 114 queries when she briefly opened at the start of the month. By the 9th, she had rejected all but 22. On the 10th, she reduced the list to 7. That gave me some hope. Alas, after she made her first full request, I received this note: "Thank you for sharing XXX with me. I'm so impressed with your credentials but regret that I'm unable to take you on as a client at this time. I receive hundreds of queries a month and as such must turn down many projects that might have great commercial potential. Please know I personally read each query and that some of these rejections are based strictly on the subject of material, which may not be a fit for my current list. Thank you again, and I wish you all the best in your publishing journey." Of the final seven, she requested four full manuscripts (two mysteries, two romances) and rejected three. I like the way she works, and wish I had been a finalist.
